Volunteer opportunities at the Ark Cat Sanctuary
- Our #1 long term need is for people with internet research skills to search out sources of funding for animal rescue operations.
- We need help from a humane educator person to develop materials for use in school presentations. The skills needed for this are creative writing, editorial and desktop publishing know how. We have many pictures to go with the stories that will be written thanks to Tammy and Mary.
- Presenter/Educator to go into schools to educate and win a new generation to the cause of spay-neuter and “Trap, Neuter, Return” to end the killing of homeless companion animals.
- Persons to help at adoption events
- We always need people willing to foster cats and kittens especially during kitten season. (April to October)
Your tax deductible donation goes to support our ongoing activities to save cats and kittens from euthanasia in municipal shelters. We take in as many cats as possible during times of high intake. Spring, summer and early fall are the critical times when many animals are in
danger of being killed due to lack of space and funding. Our role is to work with other rescue groups and shelters to give temporary homes to adoptable cats and kittens until space opens up. We take in kittens from Trap-Neuter-Return groups that we tame and prepare for
adoption. We work with rescue groups that have regular adoption venues through “PetSmart Charities”. We currently give sanctuary to 58 cats and kittens. We are funded entirely by private donations from big hearted individuals that care enough to help. See the “News” section
of the website for our latest cats and kittens.
